Ken McCool (Mecklenburg HD105)
As a Matthews town council member, McCool pushed a home repair program and frames housing affordability around concrete needs like reliable A/C and roofs. He opposed a 2019 effort to split Matthews into its own charter school system over segregation concerns and says recent teacher pay raises still fall short.

Woodson Bradley (Mecklenburg SD42)
Bradley introduced legislation requiring companies like Duke Energy to cover the costs data centers push onto household utility bills, or at minimum offer payment plans. She's also written a bill letting first responders organize and advocate for themselves, a model she wants to expand to all workers, and has pushed anti-gerrymandering legislation.

Beth Gardner Helfrich (Mecklenburg HD98)
Since being elected in 2024, Helfrich has supported restoring cities' zoning authority, the Fair Maps Act, and public employee collective bargaining rights. She's also backed universal free school breakfast and lunch, universal pre-K, and protections for IVF and contraception access.

Shelley Headen (Guilford HD62)
The daughter of two teachers, Headen is running to secure full state funding for public schools as a long-term investment. She also wants the state to crack down on healthcare monopolies driving up costs and opposes letting Duke Energy bill residents for future projects like data centers.

Evonne Hopkins (Wake HD35)
Hopkins treats healthcare as a right, not a privilege, and is committed to expanding access, lowering costs, and protecting reproductive freedom. As a small business owner, she's focused on fully funding public schools and easing the cost of living on housing, groceries, utilities, and childcare for working families.

Justice Anita Earls (NC Supreme Court)
With nearly 30 years as a civil rights attorney, Earls has ruled that voting maps must be fair, that Duke Energy, not ratepayers, should cover coal ash cleanup, and that the state must fully fund public schools. As one of only two Democrats on a 5-2 Republican-majority court, holding her seat now keeps the path open to flipping the court when more seats open in 2028 and 2030.
